First Friday’s – Friday, March 1, 2013 / Downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale

The First Friday art walk in downtown Phoenix is held on the first Friday of every month, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Every first Friday evening of each month you can take a free self-guided tour of downtown Phoenix galleries, studios and art spaces and enjoy different types of music throughout your walk. There are now more than 100 participants in the First Friday art walk that run from Indian School Road to Buchanan Street, from 12th Street to 17th Avenue. Scottsdale Arts District located along Main Street and Marshall Way in  downtown Scottsdale . This weekly tradition of “America’s Original ArtWalk” takes place every Thursday evening (year-round, except Thanksgiving) between 7 and 9 pm and what better way to stroll off dinner with a warm drink at hand and enjoy the historical ambiance and art of Scottsdale.  For the Special Event ArtWalks,  the Scottsdale Gallery Association will host live music along the streets and special themed events. Home Depot Free Kids Workshops  – Saturday, March 2, 2013 – every 1st Saturday of the month at all locations in Arizona

22nd Annual Convention and Film Festival International UFO Congress – On-going through Sunday, March 3, 2013 / Fountain Hills, Arizona

This year holds The 25th Annual Ostrich Festival at Chandler’s Tumbleweed Park (corner of McQueen and Germann
(2250 S. McQueen Rd.)The Ostrich Festival Parade starts at 6:30am with the run starts at 8am and parade to follow at 10am – both events will be taking place in Downtown Chandler. Happy St. Patrick’s Day  Parade and Fair – Sunday, March 17, 2013/ Central Phoenix

Why do we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day March 17th? One theory is that it’s the day St. Patrick diedAnnually, Phoenix hosts a huge St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This year Phoenix will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary Parade!! This years parade will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013 and begins at 10:00 am.  The starting location of the parade will be on 3rd Street just south of Virginia and continues to Moreland. The Parade has marching bands, Irish step dancers, bagpipers, floats and more.  The Fair will follow immediately after the parade until about 5 p.m. at Margaret T. Hance Park located on N. Central Avenue and W. Culver Street (next to the Irish Cultural Center). Bring your non perishable food donations and receive a raffle ticket for an hourly $100 Cash Prize drawing at the Faire. The Irish Family Faire admission is $10 for people ages 12 & over, $8 for seniors 55+ and military, $1 for ages 6 – 12, and kids under 6 are admitted free. March Spring Sunday A’Fair – Sunday, March 17, 2013 / Scottsdale, AZ

This year springs the  26th season for this free outdoor concert event  at the  Scottsdale Civic Center Park located at the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall on 75th Street and Main Street from noon to 4pm. NASA exhibition “Destination Station” – Ongoing through Sunday, March 24, 2013 / Mesa, Arizona

Join in on the take off at the Arizona Museum of Natural History  located 53 N. MacDonald Rd. Times for this event are: 10am-5 pm Tuesday-Saturday and 1pm-5pm Sundays. The museum is closed on Mondays. The Arizona Renaissance Festival – Saturday,February 9th (Ongoing) through Sunday, March 31, 2013 /Apache Junction, ArizonaStep back into medieval times at this year’s 25th Annual Arizona Renaissance Festival located at 12601 E. US Highway 60; a 30 acre medieval amusement park as a replica of a small town in the medieval times with castles, a dungeon to investigate and a large jousting arena. You can also choose from the many Renaissance costumes of your liking to get into the spirit of the era. This festival is held only on the weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, with free parking.
